As we drive onto the Icefields Parkway to start our 150 mile drive to Lake Louise, the status board is showing double yellow, i.e. poor conditions, travel not recommended. Unfortunately we've pre-payed for our room at the enormously expensive Fairmont Chateaux Lake Louise, so we're not inclined to not turn up.
