Train to Kleine-Scheidegg

Train to Kleine-Scheidegg

Monday morning. As the weather forecast for the week was pretty dismal, we thought we'd be just as well to go to the Jungfraujoch, the highest tourist-accessible point in the area, straight away. This is the train from Grindelwald (3,392 feet) to Kleine-Scheidegg (6,762 feet).

It’s worth mentioning at this point that the public transport in the area is fantastic. For about £100 you can get a Jungfraubahnen pass that gives you six days of pretty much unlimited transport on the trains, buses and cable cars. All of the transport we used ran perfectly to time and it was impressive how well all of the connections worked. Even on the most complicated multi-part journey, you never had to wait more than a few minutes for your next train/bus/cable car. Brilliant.
