As soon as I crossed to the East side of the ridge, there wasn’t a breath of wind and a few hikers were sitting around in the beautiful sunshine eating their lunches. I popped back to the West side to get blasted by the freezing gale again, just to remind myself that wasn’t just my imagination.
Having also stopped for a while to have some lunch, I started my descent. There were some great views of the Matterhorn on the way down.
