Having arrived in Kandersteg, we drove the short distance to the cablecar, which would take us up into the mountains near to lake Oeschinen, which is reputed to be the most scenic lake in the Alps.
Ideally I would have liked to walk up to the lake, but we were hoping to get at least a couple of hundred miles closer to Calais before bedtime, so I didn’t really have the time.
