In total I had walked for over six hours today and I’d passed only four people on the trail. With the exception of the area around Gornergrat and Rotenboden, nowhere around Zermatt is particularly busy, but if you’re looking for proper peace and quiet, then the west side of the valley is the place to find it.
Back at the hotel, there was time for half-an-hour in the pool before heading out for our final dinner of the week in Zermatt - one final rosti for me and a bowl of molten cheese and some bread for Judith.
