Just to give you an idea of the concerted effort that must have been required to install all of those avalanche defenses, here’s a photo of me sitting on one. I took this myself with the self timer and my camera balanced on a rock.
At this point I had been walking for about two and a half hours and I had seen only one other person. And he hadn’t even said hello the miserable git.
