On the way back to Sunnegga, I saw these goats sneaking about in the trees near the trail.
It was still fairly early when I got back to Sunnega, so I thought I'd take a slightly indirect trail back to Zermatt. About a mile-or-so out of Sunnegga, the trail forks. The left trail goes more-or-less directly back to Zermatt, whilst the right trail goes north along the side of the valley at the same altitude (~2,000m) for a couple of miles before dropping steeply towards Tiefenmatten and turning back to the south where it eventually skirts along the edge of the town. From here numerous side trails allow you to re-enter Zermatt at a convenient point.
