Around lunchtime we arrive in Chamonix, which is completely rammed with tourists, in complete contrast to the lovely, peaceful Meribel. It would have been nice to have got the cablecar up to the Aiguille du Midi, but a) we haven't really got the time, and b) there are already about a million tourists trying to get up there already. I don't recall it being anywhere near as busy as this when we were here a couple of years ago.
