After around 45 minutes on the ridge, the trail leaves the large rocks and joins a piste. From here it's an easy walk to Saulire.
It's still only early in the afternoon, so I decide to be super keen, forego the nearby cablecar and walk back down to the car in Meribel Mottaret. It takes a couple of hours and I'm well shattered when I get there. Time to head back to the hotel for a beer and some well earned dinner.
