The cluster of houses visible on the right is Meribel Village, which, confusingly, is an entirely different place to Meribel. One has to be careful which signs one is following on the trails on that side of the valley. At least the signs have the decency to refer to Meribel Mottaret as simply Mottaret.
A couple of hours later, I meet Judith in a bar in Meribel, where she's having some lunch while she waits for me to turn up.
