The space-saver spare tyre on our Punto after we got a puncture when I drove off the edge of the tarmac on a narrow country road (I’ve seen Sebastien Loeb carry speed through corners by hooking the apex of a corner, but it doesn’t appear to work quite so well in the real world). It’s also worth pointing out that this Punto is the worst car I’ve ever hired while on holiday. It was totally gutless regardless of speed or gear and over 3,000rpm it sounded like the engine was going to fall out. And the tyres apparently have inner-tubes! In the 21st century!! Good grief.
