Having safely made it back across the lava field to the car, we headed back towards the hotel. On the way we drove through the grape growing region of the island, which you can see in the photo. Unfortunately the vineyard we were intending to visit appeared to have gone out of business since the last time we were here, which was a shame because they had a really nice restaurant. So we popped into Gaia instead and bought a bottle of wine to drink on our balcony later.
