I think it would be fair to say that we were a little disappointed with Iceland, although I put this mainly down to the fact that we’d been in the Canadian Rockies only three months earlier. I think it would have been a much better idea to do Iceland before the Canadian Rockies.
There are some fantastically scenic spots in the parts of Iceland we managed to visit, as you will see from the photos, but they all seem to be a couple of hours drive away from each other. And it’s usually a couple of hours driving across a desolate, featureless moonscape.
Or maybe I’m just being too picky. It was definitely a very, very expensive place to eat and drink though. And anyone that wasn’t from the UK would probably think the petrol was extortionate too.
