Sunday - We're up early (well early-ish), the weather is fantastic and we're back on the cablecar to Plan du l'Aiguille (2,317m - 7,601 feet), where we start our first walk of the holiday. It's a relatively flat walk along the side of the valley, from Plan du l'Aiguille to the hotel at Montenvers, a distance of around three miles. The guide book lists this walk as a "classic" and a "must do". And it appears that everyone in Chamonix has ready the same guide book as I have because most of them seem to be out doing this walk.
