I didn’t do this. I just happened to come across it in the forest. Besides, there were signs saying not to go on the frozen lakes. This seemed like good advice as many of the lakes we saw weren’t frozen at all, which makes me think that at least some of the ones that were, perhaps were only slightly frozen over. Falling through the ice into a freezing cold lake miles from anywhere doesn’t seem like a smart move by any measure, even if you’re trying to write a Christmas message to your mum.
