We made it to Lake Louise at around lunchtime and decided to stop in a deli for a bite to eat. After a few minutes we noticed that the downhill skiing on the TV was from Lake Louise. Someone had just had a big crash and the medics were trying to extricate them from the safety netting. When we left the deli, we noticed that we could see part of the downhill ski run and, on full camera zoom, we could just make out the group of people (on the right) working to free the crashed skier.
As there was nothing we could do to help, we got back in our car and headed off up the Icefields Parkway.
