The hotel at which we're staying is the Fox Suites, which is essentially a load of small appartments, rather than conventional hotel rooms. No issue with that. However, everyone's "room" is effectively outdoors. So you've got to go outside in the freezing cold to get to anywhere from your room, e.g. breakfast, the pool, etc. This is a bit of a bind. It also can't be that nice for the housekeeping staff who need to spend half of their working life outside, freezing to death as they move between rooms. Still, Trip Advisor shows this as the number 1 rated hotel in Banff, so they must be doing something right.
